Civilian Response Training to Active Intruder or Violent Incident

Zelienople Police Department currently has four certified ALICE Instructors. A departmental goal of ours is to have all Zelienople Police Officers certified to instruct this program. Our officers combine classroom instruction with hands-on scenario based training exercises.

The ALICE program is intended to give community members an introduction to the ALICE model (Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, Evacuate) of self-defense in an event of an armed intruder or other critical incident at home, out in public or in the work place.

Our vision is to empower all citizens with the skills and knowledge to respond when shots are fired. If the police cannot be there in time to help, the next best thing is to prepare our civilian population to help themselves until public safety arrives.
